Our Foundation is proud to launch this initiative in Queensland, where we are based, as the first step in our nationwide commitment. By starting here, we aim to establish a robust model that will allow us to effectively expand into other Australian states over time, ensuring students across the country gain access to these valuable educational resources.

Our Foundation is dedicated to ensuring every Queensland student has the chance to learn about the incredible variety of wildlife we share our state with.

Our founders recognise that not everyone has access to high-speed internet or smartphones, which can limit access to our online portal. We believe passionately that everyone deserves the opportunity to learn independently, regardless of their access to technology.

To support this vision, we are developing a series of educational books aimed at three distinct age groups, with each book focusing on a species commonly found in Queensland. These books are designed to inspire young readers with knowledge about local wildlife and conservation.

Books for Schools Initiative

The Foundation’s Books for Schools initiative pledges:

  • Every primary school in Queensland will receive two copies of each educational book we publish.
  • Every high school in Queensland will receive two copies of each educational book we publish.
  • Each student will have the option to download a free eBook version of our publications (subject to terms and conditions).

The Scale of Our Commitment

Our educational pledge is ambitious, and we are committed to achieving it. Queensland has approximately 1,800 state, independent, and religious schools, educating over 500,000 students.

In primary education alone (Years 0 to 6), there are around 300,000 students, with each grade averaging about 50,000 pupils. Across Queensland, there are 1,262 state schools and 549 independent and Catholic schools.

Through this initiative, we aim to make a lasting impact on wildlife education for Queensland students, equipping future generations with a deeper understanding and appreciation of our state’s unique biodiversity.

Our Major Supporters

We appreciate each and every individual and organisation who stands alongside us, helping bring our vision to life.
