Welcome to the Tiewelt Wildlife Foundation. Here, we share key information about who we are, how we’re funded, and our unwavering commitment to wildlife, wildlife groups, and the broader conservation community.
As a philanthropic foundation, we believe in complete transparency, which fosters trust and engagement with our stakeholders.
Who We Are
Founded in 2024, the Tiewelt Wildlife Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Queensland, established by our President, Samantha, and our Chairman, Paul, who are united by a profound passion for wildlife.
Samantha, our President, holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Queensland and has been a devoted volunteer, advocate, and campaigner for Australian wildlife. She’s dedicated to protecting, rescuing, and rehabilitating native species and promoting wildlife awareness, particularly among young Australians. She firmly believes that instilling a love for wildlife through engaging and educational experiences from a young age is essential for a future where humans and animals can thrive side by side.
Her extensive experience volunteering with various wildlife charities has given Samantha a deep understanding of the challenges facing wildlife groups, and she’s committed to finding lasting solutions. By strategically directing the Foundation’s resources to areas of greatest need and facilitating collaboration with passionate undergraduates from around the globe, the Foundation is better equipped to address challenges swiftly, bringing fresh perspectives to conservation. This vision forms the basis of our international programme.
Samantha’s focus on tackling issues at the state level, while developing a framework to share these solutions with Australia’s remarkable network of wildlife volunteers, creates a ripple effect of positive impact, supporting wildlife groups across the nation.
Our Mission
The Tiewelt Wildlife Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the protection and awareness of Australia’s unique indigenous wildlife. Our mission is to:
- Empower local community groups;
- Expand knowledge on wildlife conservation and its harmonious coexistence with humans; and
- Provide educational opportunities for international youth here in Queensland.
Through our work, we are committed to making a lasting, positive impact by partnering closely with Australia’s leading wildlife charities, non-profits, and community groups.
Our Core Activities
The Tiewelt Wildlife Foundation focuses on five core activities
Supporting Local Communities
We empower local wildlife groups across Australia (starting with Queensland) to protect and care for native species in their communities.
Recognising Wildlife Heroes
We celebrate the efforts of leaders and volunteers dedicated to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation.
Educational Outreach
We offer an online platform for anyone interested in learning about Australian indigenous wildlife, with a focus on Queensland’s native species. Educational materials are distributed to schools across Queensland (initially), promoting awareness among young learners.
Student Exchange Programmes
We provide real-world educational opportunities for students from international universities (initially from the UK) to experience hands-on wildlife conservation in rural Queensland.
Educational Resources
We create and distribute books and learning packs to introduce primary school students to their native wildlife, nurturing respect and curiosity from an early age.
